the company

Cal y Canto Teatro began its professional work in 2002. Their personal aesthetic, especially in visual theater, is the result of the bet of the founding members, Ana and Marcos, for a work of own creation.

In the evolution of Cal y Canto, their shows have invented new languages that surprise the audience. Research in the world of kites, where they have created their own imagery and the creation of site-specific shows such as Lost Dog, which takes place inside a shanty-house.

They have been present at prominent festivals around the world: Japan, Canada, Colombia, Germany, Russia, England, Holland, Poland, Taiwan, Italy, South Korea, China, Israel, France, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Romania…

The name of the company refers us to an artistic hermeticism (“closed under lock and key”) that is resolved with each new creation.
